Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Oribe Peralta each scored goals to help Mexico defeat Jamaica 2-0 Thursday at the Rose Bowl.

The win helped Mexico clinch a spot in the quarterfinals of the Copa America Centenario.

Hernandez gave Mexico a 1-0 lead in the first half, scoring on a header from a cross from Jesus Corona. Peralta added the second goal late in the second half to secure the win.

But Mexico’s real hero was goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, who consistently stop point-blank shots from Jamaica defenders.

Both teams played aggressively throughout the game. But Mexico was the team that put away its chances. Mexico next plays Venezuela in Group C, which defeated Uruguay earlier in the day.
